Port Vila, 3 September 2025 - The National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS) successfully convened its Focal Point Meeting with key national security and sectoral agencies to strengthen coordination and enhance collective response to security challenges.
On 13 August 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia Hon. Richard Marles and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu Hon Johnny Koanapo Rasou NIES, initialled the Nakamal Agreement at Mount Yasur in Tanna Island.

The Ministry of the Prime Minister (MPM) officially welcomed its new Director General (DG), former Ambassador George Manuiri, following his recent appointment by the Public Service Commission on March 28, 2025. Mr. Manuiri succeeds the outgoing DG, Mrs. Cherol Ala Ianna.
