The Ministry of the Prime Minister (MPM) officially welcomed its new Director General (DG)

The Ministry of the Prime Minister (MPM) officially welcomed its new Director General (DG), former Ambassador George Manuiri, following his recent appointment by the Public Service Commission on March 28, 2025. Mr. Manuiri succeeds the outgoing DG, Mrs. Cherol Ala Ianna.

With a distinguished career in public service and diplomacy, DG Manuiri brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He has previously served as Director General in several key ministries, including the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ministry of Finance. Additionally, he has held significant international positions, such as Deputy Director General and heading the Department of Budget Administration and Human Resources at the ACP Secretariat in Brussels. His career also includes serving as Vanuatu’s Ambassador to the European Union in Brussels.

On April 2, 2025, the Vanuatu National Security Council Secretariat briefed Mr. Manuiri and officially welcomed him as our new DG and Chairman of the Security Official Committee. His extensive experience and leadership skills are seen as valuable assets as he takes on this important role, ensuring the continued strengthening of Vanuatu's national security initiatives.
