The President of the Republic of Vanuatu, H.e Nikenike Vurobaravu has just appointed Mr. Karlshem Bongran as its new Commissioner. This is a pivotal moment for the Vanuatu Police Force (VPF), as Mr. Bongran brings a wealth of experience, strategic insight, and a deep understanding of national security to his new role.
Mr. Bongran is a distinguished figure in Vanuatu’s security landscape. He has a commendable history of service as a former member of the Vanuatu Police Force, a former Commander of the Vanuatu Mobile Force (VMF), and Chief of Staff. Most recently, he played a crucial role as a Lead Analyst within the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS), operating under the Prime Minister's Office, where he was instrumental in shaping the nation's strategic security posture.
With this appointment, Mr. Karlshem Bongran also assumes a vital role as a new member of the National Security Council (NSC). His presence on the Council is expected to significantly enrich its discussions, providing a ground-level perspective on law enforcement and an analytical understanding of security threats directly from the operational heart of the nation's security apparatus.
