On the 12th September 2025, the National Security Adviser, Mrs Roline Tekon, the High Commissioner of Vanuatu to the Republic of Fiji HE Viran Brown and Director Yvon Basil from the Department of Foreign Affairs had the privilege to engage with the FFA. This happened at the margins of the Pacific Islands Forum Leaders' Retreat in Honiara, Solomon Islands.
The engagement was very constructive and fruitful in understanding the benefits and challenges in the Fisheries domain and how the three entities can step in to contribute to strengthen the work of the Vanuatu Police Marine Wing and the Vanuatu Fisheries Department as far as maritime and aerial surveillance are concerned.
The NSCS seizes this opportunity to thank the FFA Officials Mr. Steve Masika, Mr. Yohni Fepuleai and Mr. Yakar Silas from the Vanuatu Fisheries Department for coordinating this valuable engagement.
