On 13 August 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister of Australia Hon. Richard Marles and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu Hon Johnny Koanapo Rasou NIES, initialled the Nakamal Agreement at Mount Yasur in Tanna Island.
The Agreement is for a period of 10 years.
The signing of the Agreement will be executed by the Hon. Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu, Hon. Jotham NAPAT and the Hon. Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese in September 2025.
